The new millennium is characterized by globalization of markets throwing the erstwhile-protected economies like India open to global competition Indian industry particularly small and medium sector is passing through turbulent times. The need of the hour is a well developed “knowledge entrepreneur”. Entrepreneurship development in India has a glorious history in which several institutions and individuals belonging to Government, Quasi Government and private bodies are actively associated with entrepreneurial development. The need of the hour is a well developed "Knowledge Entrepreneur". Towards this end, National Academy of Management & Entrepreneurship (NAME), has been setup by a small group of public-spirited individuals under the chairmanship of Dr. S. K. Prasad. There are more than 700 entrepreneurial development institutes in country organizing programs for existing entrepreneurs and future entrepreneurs. However, the efforts of entrepreneurial development are going in different directions without any coordination and cooperation among different segments of development process. That is the reason why the society is not in a position to reap the benefits of the developmental initiatives to the fullest extent.
